Weather Conditions:
Saturday and Sunday, an upper-level ridge of high pressure will move over northern California, reducing atmospheric mixing. In addition, light and variable winds will inhibit dispersion, and a strong overnight temperature inversion each night will trap pollutants near the surface. Therefore, particle levels will be Moderate on both days. Monday, light southeasterly winds through midday will bring pollutants from the San Joaquin Valley into the Sacramento area. Therefore, despite light northerly winds aiding pollutant dispersion later in the day, particle levels will continue to be Moderate.
