Weather Conditions:
Thursday and Friday are Spare The Air Days in the Sacramento region. Sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-90s will increase ozone formation, and light winds will reduce pollutant dispersion. Furthermore, smoke from the Trailhead Fire east of Auburn will continue to impact the region, enhancing ozone production in the foothills and the eastern portion of the valley. As a result, ozone levels will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups on both days. Saturday, a weak upper-level trough of low pressure will move into northern California, enhancing mixing in the atmosphere and generating stronger onshore winds at the surface. However, sunny, warm conditions will continue to enhance ozone formation, yielding high-Moderate ozone levels.
