Weather Conditions:
Thursday, sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-90s will enhance ozone formation in the Sacramento region. However, moderate northerly winds will disperse some pollutants, resulting in low-Moderate ozone levels. Friday, upper-level high pressure will build over California, limiting vertical mixing and producing sunny skies and very warm temperatures. These conditions will increase ground-level ozone production. In addition, lighter northerly winds will limit the dispersion of pollutants, yielding high-Moderate ozone levels. Saturday, upper-level high pressure will continue to strengthen over the region, limiting vertical mixing and producing sunny skies and hot temperatures in the Sacramento region. Furthermore, calm to light winds will reduce pollutant dispersion. As a result, ozone levels will be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.
