Air Quality Forecast and Weather Discussion
Sunday, calm winds throughout the day will inhibit dispersion. Additionally, cool temperatures will produce a strong inversion during the evening hours, trapping pollutants near the surface. These conditions will yield high-Moderate particle levels. Monday and Tuesday, strong temperature inversions each morning and evening will confine pollutants to the ground, while morning fog and mist will enhance particle formation. Furthermore, calm to light easterly to southeasterly winds throughout the period will hinder dispersion, allowing pollutants to accumulate. These conditions, combined with high carryover from day to day, will yield Unhealthy for Sensitive particle levels Monday and high-Moderate particle levels Tuesday.
