Excessive Heat Friday Through the Weekend
A rapid warming and drying trend is in store this week with high pressure building over the Sacramento region, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures Friday into the weekend will increase the potential for poor air quality and for heat related illnesses for those exposed to prolonged time outdoors, especially the elderly, children and other sensitive groups. This includes your pets. Dry conditions with gusty north winds will increase the potential for fire starts as well.

A Spare The Air alert in the Sacramento region will be issued when the AQI for ground-level ozone pollution is forecast to reach 126 or above.
