Smoke from the King Fire will increase particulate matter (PM2.5) levels in the Sacramento region. Smoke impacts will be greatest in the foothills east of Sacramento overnight and into the morning. Some PM2.5 monitoring sites might see elevated readings. This pattern is expected to continue throughout the weekend. If you can see or smell smoke in your area, you should go indoors and avoid all unnecessary outdoor activities.
